New to MCP?
A 30-second primer on what these servers are and why MCPStore exists.
What is an MCP server?
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude plug into outside tools and data. An MCP server is a small program that exposes one such capability — your files, a database, GitHub, Slack — through that standard interface.
What does it do?
Once connected, the AI can actually use the server: read and write files, query a database, search the web, open a pull request. Each server adds a new set of actions your assistant can take, without custom glue code.
How MCPStore helps
We track every server from the official registry in one place — with real GitHub stars and activity, community ratings and reviews, and a clear official/verified signal — so you can find a trustworthy one and copy its install command in seconds.
